Knights Drop Finale to Harford, Shift Focus to Key Region Matchup

March 29, 2026 | Harford Community College

CCBC Essex closed out the weekend with an 11-5 loss to the Harford Fighting Owls on Sunday afternoon at Harford Community College.

Harford set the tone early, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run single. The Fighting Owls continued to apply pressure in the second, stringing together multiple run-scoring hits, including a double down the left field line and a home run to right field, extending the lead.

The Owls added three more runs in the third inning on a home run and continued to build separation with solo home runs in both the fourth and sixth innings, showcasing their power throughout the lineup.

Freshman Andy Martínez Rivera (Vega Alta, PR) got the start for the Knights, working three innings while allowing eight runs (six earned).

Harford's starter controlled the game early, limiting Essex to one run across five innings while striking out six.

Offensively, the Knights showed flashes throughout the game. Sophomore Diego Garcia (Bradenton, FL) led the way with two RBIs, finishing 1-for-4 at the plate. Freshman Adrian Camilo (Bronx, NY), freshman Manuel Agostini (Toa Baja, PR), freshman Orville De Jesus (Killeen, TX), sophomore Connor Bailey (Salisbury, MD), sophomore Laurin Guerra Guzman (Santo Domingo, DR), freshman Jacob Severino (Queens, NY), and Garcia each recorded a hit.

Bailey (Soph., Salisbury, MD) also added two stolen bases as the Knights were aggressive on the basepaths, swiping four bases in the contest.

Harford's offense totaled 10 hits on the day, led by a strong performance from the middle and bottom of the order, including multiple home runs and timely hitting. Defensively, the Fighting Owls played a clean game, not committing an error.

Despite the result, Essex continued to compete offensively and create pressure on the bases, but was unable to overcome Harford's early surge and power production.
