Bailey’s Big Day Powers First-Place CCBC Essex Past CCAC to Open Road Trip
April 6, 2026 - Allegheny County, PA
The hot streak continues for CCBC Essex—and now they sit alone at the top.
Behind a monster performance from Connor Bailey (Soph., Salisbury, MD), the Knights opened an 11-game road trip in dominant fashion with a 15-3 victory over the Community College of Allegheny County (PA) on Monday, extending their winning streak and moving into first place in Region 20.
Facing a CCAC club on their home field, Essex wasted no time taking control and never looked back, scoring in four different innings and overwhelming the Wildcats with power throughout the lineup.
Bailey delivered one of the biggest individual performances of the season, driving in six runs on two hits. The sophomore infielder tripled in the first inning to get Essex on the board, then broke the game open in the second with a grand slam to center field.
The Knights set the tone early. After Bailey's RBI triple in the opening frame, Laurin Guerra Guzman (Soph., Santo Domingo, DR) launched a three-run home run to give Essex an immediate 4-0 advantage.
CCBC Essex continued to apply pressure in the second inning, adding five more runs behind home runs from Gabriel Vargas (Fr., Cidra, PR) and Bailey, stretching the lead to 9-0 and putting CCAC on its heels early.
The offense kept rolling into the fifth inning, where Manuel Agostini (Fr., Toa Baja, PR) worked a bases-loaded walk, and Rosa followed with a two-run homer to extend the lead to 15-3.
On the mound, Casey Parsons (Soph., Salisbury, MD) delivered a strong start for the Knights. The right-hander tossed five innings, allowing five hits and three runs (two earned) while striking out five and issuing no walks.
CCBC Essex collected 11 hits in the win, with Bailey, Rosa, Agostini, and Diego Garcia (Soph., Bradenton, FL) each tallying two hits. The Knights also pressured CCAC defensively with aggressive baserunning, swiping three bases.
With the win secured over CCAC, Essex continues to build momentum at the top of the standings as the 11-game road trip rolls on.
Next up: Game 2 of the doubleheader later today.
