Knights Dominate Game 2, Complete 7-0 Road Trip and Extend Win Streak to 11

April 10, 2026 - Wye Mills, MD

CCBC Essex closed out a perfect road trip in dominant fashion on Friday, rolling past Chesapeake College 12-1 in Game 2 of the doubleheader. The win caps a 7-0 trip for the Knights, who have now won 11 straight and return home sitting alone in first place in Region 20 with a two-game lead.

Freshman Manuel Agostini (Toa Baja, PR) led the offensive surge, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with three singles and two RBIs, continuing his strong stretch at the top of the lineup.

The Knights wasted no time getting started. Freshman Joey Rosa (Carolina, PR) drove in the game's first run with a groundout in the opening inning, and CCBC Essex added another in the second on a sacrifice bunt from freshman Yahil Diaz (Carolina, PR) to make it 2-0.

Essex kept the pressure on in the third inning, as Rosa delivered an RBI single down the right field line and sophomore Casey Parsons (Salisbury, MD) executed another sacrifice bunt to extend the lead.

The game broke open in the sixth inning when the Knights erupted for five runs on five hits. Diaz doubled to drive in a run, Agostini followed with a two-run single, and Parsons capped the inning with a two-run double to push the lead to double digits.

On the mound, sophomore Joe Cuccurullo (Palm City, FL) delivered a strong start, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just three hits, striking out four, and working efficiently through the Chesapeake lineup. Sophomore Diego Garcia (Bradenton, FL) added a scoreless inning in relief to help secure the win.

CCBC Essex pounded out 13 hits in the victory, with Parsons driving in three runs and Rosa and Diaz each adding multi-hit performances. The Knights also applied pressure on the bases, swiping five bags, including two from Agostini.

Chesapeake College managed just four hits on the day and was limited to a single run as the Knights controlled the game in all phases.

With the win, CCBC Essex finishes the road trip a perfect 7-0, extends its winning streak to 11 games, and strengthens its hold atop the Region 20 standings.

The Knights will return home on Monday for a non-region matchup against Cecil College as they look to keep the momentum rolling.
