CCBC Essex Rolls Past CCBC Dundalk, Improves to 29-10

April 23, 2026 - Rosedale, MD

CCBC Essex put together a complete performance on Thursday at home, cruising to a 10-0 shutout victory over CCBC Dundalk to move to 29-10 overall on the season.

The Knights wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Sophomore Connor Bailey (Salisbury, MD) drove in a run on a fielder's choice, while Laurin Guerra Guzman (So., Santo Domingo, DR) and Nehomar Caldera (Fr., Memphis, TN) followed with RBI singles to give Essex an early 3-0 lead.

CCBC Essex continued to apply pressure in the second. An error by Dundalk opened the door before Manuel Agostini (Fr., Toa Baja, PR) ripped an RBI single down the left field line, and Bailey added another with a base hit to center, extending the lead to 6-0.

The Knights added on in the third with a sacrifice from Marvin Rodriguez (Fr., Bronx, NY), pushing the advantage to 7-0.

After a quiet stretch, Essex broke things open in the eighth inning. D'Alfonso launched a solo home run to right, Joey Rosa (Fr., Carolina, PR) worked a bases-loaded walk to bring in a run, and Bailey capped his strong day with another RBI single to make it 10-0.

On the mound, Drew Rommel (So., Fallston, MD) delivered a dominant outing, tossing five shutout innings while allowing just one hit, striking out three, and walking one on 56 pitches. Mosteller and Diego Garcia (So., Bradenton, FL) were sharp out of the bullpen, combining to finish off the shutout effort.

Offensively, Essex totaled 10 hits. Bailey led the way, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Garcia and Bailey each recorded multi-hit games.

The Knights were also flawless defensively, turning a double play and committing zero errors, with Bailey leading the team with five chances in the field.

CCBC Dundalk managed four hits in the game, with Harris, Cooke, Rainier, and Hinkle each collecting one. Despite swiping six bases, Dundalk couldn't capitalize offensively against the Knights' pitching staff.

CCBC Essex will look to keep the momentum going as they return to action at home on Saturday against Prince George's Community College.
