CCBC Essex Women’s Soccer Falls Short in 3-1 Defeat Against Hagerstown Community College Despite Strong Offensive Effort

Essex, MD- The CCBC Essex Women's Soccer team faced a tough 3-1 loss against Hagerstown Community College. Despite taking 21 total shots, with 12 on target, CCBC Essex struggled to break through Hagerstown's defense, which was backed by a strong performance from goalkeeper Michaela Shindle, who made 11 saves.

Hagerstown took an early lead in the 15th minute when True Benshoff scored, assisted by Peyton Miller. CCBC Essex managed to score in the 35th minute with an unassisted goal from Mackenzie Celenza, but the team's offense couldn't capitalize on additional chances throughout the match.

In the second half, Hagerstown regained control with a goal from True Benshoff in the 54th minute, assisted by Erika Thompson. Benshoff completed her hat trick in the 73rd minute with another goal, this time assisted by Arial Crawford, sealing the victory for Hagerstown.

Players to watch for CCBC Essex included Mackenzie Celenza, who scored the team's only goal, and Alexandra Henning, who consistently pressured the opposing defense with five shots. Goalkeeper Kayla Davis Friend made 6 saves but faced a relentless attack from Hagerstown.
